Spacer Drink less often, with your mates on side.

Privacy policy

Spacer is a personal project run by Keith Rowell. This page says what it stores about you, who can see it and how to get rid of it. Last updated 22 October 2026.

What Spacer stores

  • Your email address, name, handle and bio.
  • Your password, kept only as a one-way hash.
  • Your nightly logs (clear, a couple or a big one) and the shape of nights you chose.
  • The crews you belong to, the plans you host or reply to, and the cheers you send.
  • Reports you make about other people, and the mates you block.

Spacer does not ask for your location, contacts, photos or health data. It does not count drinks.

Who sees what

Your crew mates see your name, handle and bio, your week, and short lines in the crew feed such as “kept the week”. They never see your email address. People who are not in a crew with you see nothing about you. Blocking a mate hides them from your feeds and hides you from theirs.

Keith can see everything in the database, because he runs it. He looks only to keep the app working and to act on reports.

Reports and blocks

You can report a mate or a piece of content, and block a mate, from the app. Reports go to Keith by email. They carry the report text and who and what it is about, so he can act on it.

Where it lives

Spacer runs on one server that Keith rents from Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany. Your data is stored there and nowhere else.

Email

Spacer uses your email address to sign you in and to send a password reset when you ask for one. It sends no newsletters or marketing. Mail is sent through Migadu, a Swiss email host, which sees your address and the reset message only to deliver it.

Tracking, ads and selling

Spacer has no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of you across other apps or sites. Your data is not sold or shared with anyone, except where the law requires it.

Keeping and deleting your data

Spacer keeps your data until you delete your account. To delete it, open Me in the app or on the web and choose delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. It removes your profile, logs, shapes, plans, cheers, reports and memberships. Database backups roll off after 14 days, so copies of your data are gone from them by then.

If you started a crew and others are in it, the longest-standing member takes it over. A crew with nobody left is deleted.
